In several markets the tariff on a complete built-up vehicle is high enough to erase the margin, while the same vehicle imported as a kit and assembled locally lands inside a workable duty band. Buyers rarely get that comparison before they commit.
We quote the same model three ways — CBU, SKD and CKD — against your destination tariff schedule, so the landed-cost difference is a number in the quotation rather than a guess made after the deposit.
The default route. One unit, one bill of lading, ready to register on arrival subject to homologation. Shortest lead time and lowest handling risk.
Major assemblies shipped partly disassembled for local completion. Suits markets that reward local assembly with a lower duty band without demanding a full plant.
Component-level shipment for buyers operating a local assembly line. Requires an established facility and a committed volume programme.
Each quotation carries the landed cost of all three routes for your destination so the duty saving can be checked against the added assembly cost.
Questions
It depends entirely on your destination tariff schedule. CBU is cheapest on handling and fastest to sell; SKD and CKD only pay off where the local duty band rewards assembly enough to cover the extra labour and logistics. We put all three numbers on the quotation.
Kit programmes are volume commitments and are quoted case by case. Our standard small-batch terms cover CBU units from one unit upward.
Assembly documentation availability depends on the manufacturer and the model. We confirm what is available before the contract rather than after.
